(1) Unless the municipal officer or their designee determine that the violation(s) are egregious and/or threaten the safety or property of others, the person will normally first be issued a written, and if possible, a verbal notice of violation with guidance and direction to remedy the violation. The person will also be offered assistance accessing social services, including shelter resources, veteran resources, mental health support, and drug and alcohol addiction and recovery resources. If the person complies within 72 hours, a citation will not be issued.

(2) Violation of any provisions of this chapter is a Class D violation pursuant to ORS 153.012 and may result in additional violations of Oregon Revised Statutes.

(3) In addition to any other penalties that may be imposed, any campsite used in a manner not authorized by this chapter or other provisions of this code shall constitute a public nuisance and may be abated as such.

(4) The remedies described in this chapter shall not be the exclusive remedies of the city for violations of this chapter. (Ord. 2069 § 2, 2023)
